Eleven Tyler Police Recruits Graduate

It was graduation day for eleven police recruits from the Tyler Police Academy today. The graduating class is made up of seven Tyler police recruits, three Smith County Sheriff's recruits and one independent recruit. Awards like Best Attitude and Top Gun were handed out during the ceremony. Recruits say they are happy to be done with the training.

"It was very stressful, very time consuming," said Kimbrick Jones, Smith County Sheriff's Department graduate. "A lot of time away from your family. It takes a lot of dedication." Tyler Chief of Police Gary Swindle was there to give the graduates advice. Most importantly, he says family comes first.
