4A Division I State Championship Pushed Back For TV

This weekend's Highland Park versus Marshall game for the 4A Division I football title, will be televised.  Officials today announced the game at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler will be broadcast in the Dallas area by KDFI.  It will be carried in East Texas by KFXK Fox 51.  Highland Park earlier this week sold out its allotment of 5500 tickets for the game at 12,000 seat Rose Stadium.  The suburban Dallas school had faced complaints from people who weren't able to get tickets for the game in Tyler.  Highland Park even turned to the UIL, asking for help in finding an alternative stadium or making other broadcast arrangements.  But, Marshall won a coin toss deciding the venue after the two schools couldn't agree on a site and the UIL said it was Marshall's call.

TISD announced they will sell thousands of standing room only tickets to the game, beginning at 2:00 on Saturday.  Those who purchased tickets will be allowed to enter the stadium beginning at noon.
