Victim Of Robbery Opens Up About Terrifying Ordeal

"Two black men came in the door and grabbed my neck and stuck a gun on my neck and told me to go in the back," says Phan Boren about being held up at gunpoint at VIP Cleaners in Tyler. Phan says she simply walked next door from her job to talk to the clerk at VIP Cleaners when the armed robbers came in. "He pushed me in the back and told me 'put your knees down, put your face down, don't look at my face, I don't want you to identify my face.'" The women were locked in the back for 30 minutes after robbers got away with thousands in cash. The owner of VIP says the money the robbers took pales in comparison, knowing his long-time employee is alive. "The most important thing is Dolly's ok, that's the most important thing," says VIP Cleaners owner, Don Lusk. Police immediately searched the surrounding building and used K-9 dogs to find the men but it was too late. "Apparently they left in a vehicle," says Smith County Precinct 2 Constable Frank Creath. The victims were able to give authorities a description of the robbers, despite at one point thinking they wouldn't make it out alive. "I just followed what he tell me. I just pleaded for my life," says Phan. "I was scared, shaking you know. People put a gun on your neck and force you in the back... this is real."

The robbers also got away with one of the victims' cell phones. Police are hoping that clue will lead them to the culprits. The owner of VIP says their store has been burglarized before. He's now working to put some type of security system in place to keep the bad guys out.

Officials believe the robbers got away by car. And here are their descriptions. One is a black male, 6'1" to 6'2", 150 pounds, clean shaven, wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt and starched dockers. The other robber with him was also a black male, 6'0" tall, wearing a blue, hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and had one gold tooth. If you have any information, call authorities immediately.
