Chandler Police Chief Celebrates 25 Years As Top Cop

The last time Chandler got a new police chief, the guy before him had lasted just three weeks. Twenty-five years later, that "new" police chief is still on the job. Chandler Police Chief, Ron Reeves was surprised today with a lunch in his honor, celebrating a quarter century as the city's top-cop.

He started in 1979 as reserve officer and a month later found himself in the chief's office. He's never left, and says he's seen the city and the department grow quite a bit in that time. "I started out with myself and a part-time guy in 1980 as the chief and i now have myself and six other paid officers and eight reserves on our force," says Reeves.

Chief Reeves says he appreciates all the support he's received over the years and looks forward to the challenges ahead as the city continues to grow.
