Tatum Two Wins From Claiming State Title

The Tatum Eagles made it to the quarterfinals in 2004 but came up short against Gilmer.
This year's group of Seniors never forgot the heartbreak.
The team used the memory as a motivator.
Tatum defeated Canton in the quarterfinals Friday night, 45 to 21.
Coach Andy Evans said his team has the character and the heart to win.
"You know they never get rattled," he said after the game. "We were ahead 14 to nothing, we gave up two touchdowns, (Canton) rallied and tied the game. But our kids never get rattled. They just got right back on the field and scored, and that's just a sign of the character of those kids."
Tatum will play Sweetwater in the semi-finals.
