An appeal has been denied for a man convicted of kidnapping and killing an 18-year-old man in Overton more than two years ago. Michael Kay, 30, had appealed his murder conviction, saying the manslaughter option was never offered to him. Kay and another man were convicted of murdering Michael Hendrix and dumping his body in the Sabine River.
An appeals court upheld Kay's conviction and sentence this week. Kay is currently serving a life sentence in prison.
