Children at one Tyler school have new tools to enrich their academic lives. St. Gregory Catholic School held a ceremony this morning to mark the opening of its library and academic wing.
The new addition includes a new music room and science lab. Teachers, students and parents were on hand for the prayer and blessing. Children sang and performed at the event. Afterwards, parents had the chance to take a look at the new center. They say the it will help the children grow, but not just in school.
"It's just a growing experience they will remember as they become young adults and go out into the world, what was offered for them in their youth," said Renee Goodwin, who has two children attending St. Gregory.
The new addition broke ground in November of last year. Hundreds of parents and supporters from the community helped fund the new wing.
