Runners Turn Out For Tyler Turkey Trot

East Texans laced up their shoes early this morning before endulging in turkey dinner. More than 100 people took part in the Tyler Turkey Trot at Premier Fitness.

The 5K run had men's and women's divisions. And the kids got in on the action with a kids dash. Organizers say participants came from Tyler, Jacksonville, Dallas and Houston.

Runners say the event is a great way to bring the family together. "We come every year to do the turkey trot here in Tyler. Our family comes from Cincinnati, Ohio to spend the holiday with us. All of our friends come to join us from Dallas and it's a great way to start the morning," said Alice Avery, a runner.

The winner received a six-month membership to Premier Fitness. Money raised from the event benefits the Boys and Girls Club.
