Jacksonville Soldier Killed In Iraq

A Jacksonville native is the lastest casualty in Iraq. Specialist Dominic Joseph Hinton was killed Saturday when a roadside bomb exploded near the Humvee he was riding in during a combat mission.

Hinton was a 2000 graduate of Jacksonville High School and a member of the 101st Airborne Division. He was stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky., and was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.

Dominic Hinton is survived by his wife, Crystal, and two young children, Michael and Nicole.
