Swimming Lessons At The ETMC Olympic Center

  • Children's Swim Lessons offered by the Olympic Center Aquatics Department of East Texas Medical Center at our Tyler facility.
  • Classes will be offered at our indoor warm water pool.
  • Parking is free in the parking garage connected to our Tyler facility.
  • Class sizes are limited to allow individual attention.
  • Payments may be made by either cash, check or credit card at the Health Enhancement Shop in Tyler.
  • Receive a $5 discount per student when payment is made by pre-registration date.

Class Descriptions:

Splash Babies
A course designed for parents and their child 6 months to 2 ½ years. This class is designed to have fun, and acquaint a young child to water. The class will cover the beginning fundamentals of swimming such as; bubble blowing, flutter kick and overcoming the fear of water. Both parents are encouraged to attend but is not necessary.

Aqua Ducks
A beginning class to teach 2 ½ - 4 year olds to learn the basic fundamentals of swimming, water skills and to feel comfortable in the water.

This class starts the beginning of true locomotion skills and a continuation of skills learned in the Aqua Ducks. Skills include front stroke and back stroke

A class designed for the more advanced swimmer. This class will prepare a child to swim competitively. The objectives of this class will to refine stroke technique and improve aquatic skills.

This class is designed for the intermediate to advanced swimmer. These students have accomplished the basic skills for the front and back strokes. This class will work on improving stroke technique and breathing skills and introduce students to the side, breast and elementary back strokes.
