6 Longview area restaurants were found to have serious violations in the latest round of inspections by the health department, including Chens Garden at 1021 Mccann road. 10 violations were found in an October 28th inspection. There was improper handling of ready to east foods, foods not properly wrapped and stored, and hot and cold foods were at unsafe temperatures. They scored a "C".
10 violations were also found in a November 7th inspection of La Michoacana meat market at 1419 south Green street. There were uncleaned food contact surfaces, un sanitized utensils, and hot foods at unsafe temperatures. They scored a "C".
Inspected November 4th, Popeyes fried chicken at 2110 Gilmer road had 8 violations. Hot and cold foods were held at unsafe temperatures, foods were not stored and protected, and there was improper handling of ready to eat foods. They scored a "C".
Dairy Queen of east Texas at 3815 Marshall avenue had 8 violations in an October 19th inspection. Toxic chemicals were improperly stored near foods, employee hygienic violations were found and there were improper hand wash facilities. They scored a "C".
8 violations were also found at Amigos buffet at 2511 Judson road. Inspected November 14th, unsanitary food prep areas were found as well as unprotected foods, and hygienic violations. They scored a "C".
And Johnny Carinos Italian restaurant 411 east Loop 281 had 8 violations in a November 7th inspection. Cold foods were at unsafe temperatures, there was improper handling of foods and hygienic violations. They scored a "C".
