Authorities Say One Of Two Escaped Iowa Murderers Captured

One is back in custody, another is still at large.

Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack says one of two convicted murderers who escaped this week from the Iowa State Penitentiary has been captured today in Illinois.

Thirty-four-year-old Martin Moon was caught in the southern Illinois city of Chester. He was captured near an Illinois state prison after officials at the prison noticed a car parked near their complex and notified local police.

Twenty-seven-year-old Robert Joseph Legendre remains free.
