The world record breaking two hour house is now open to the public. Today members of the Tyler Area Builders Association got together to show off the house.
Brick was added to the exterior, and there's a granite floor in the garage. The previous world record set in San Diego was two hours and 55 minutes. On October 1st, contractors from around East Texas built this house in just two hours, 52 minutes and 29 seconds.
"This was a huge challenge," said Brian Conaway, President of Tyler Area Builders Association. "We had a lot of people that said we were crazy, and that we would never be able to pull that it off, that it would never happen. We're here today and we did it." Builders say the house has met all codes, and is now on sale for $119,000. It's located in the Wellington Place Subdivision across from the Tyler Pounds Airport. The money will go towards six local charities.
