East Texas Congressman Gets Courthouse Security Bill Passed

The U.S. House today overwhelmingly passed a courthouse security bill authored by East Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert. Gohmert says he's gratified by its passage. Referring to the Smith County Courthouse shootings in February, he said this bill would prevent future attacks, protect people in the courthouse, and punish those who threaten their safety.

The Bush administration also issued a statement saying it too supports the bill.
