KIGALI, Rwanda Africa is bracing for bird flu.
An agriculture official is warning that migratory birds from Europe and Asia -- which will start arriving in a couple of weeks -- could carry the deadly strain of bird flu.Agriculture ministers from 17 African countries are urging Africans to pool their resources and share information on bird flu.One official says, "We cannot move separately, we have to move together or we will fail."The outbreak of the strain known as H-five-N-one began two years ago in Asia. It has wiped out flocks of birds. It isn't easily spread to humans. But 62 people who contracted the disease in Asia have died. Most were poultry workers.
