Burn Bans Continue

Many East Texas counties have been under a burn ban for more than four months. Due to the lack of rain, fire officials are urging people not to burn trash, saying the low humidity and high winds can cause fires to get out of control. Hopkins County Fire Investigator Steven Caudle says, "Fire produces it's own wind current, when the vegetation is high it produces it's own wind current once it feeds with natural wind and it travels even faster." Fire officials also ask smokers to be careful with your cigarettes and don't throw them out the window.
