Several East Texas Districts Still Up In The Air

We figured Longview would be there, but we had no idea John Tyler would. Regardless, the district unbeatens play for the 12-5A championship Friday night, and that's our Game of theWeek on the Red Zone.  While Lee can't make the playoffs, a win over Mesquite Horn means Longview goes Division II, creating a potential matchup with Lufkin, or rematch with John Tyler.

Jacksonville has a big game against Nacogdoches. A win and they grab the final playoff spot in district 17-4A.  A loss and the door is left open for Hallsville.

Sabine and Pittsburg play a big one Friday.  The winner grabs the third spot in district 13-3A, joining Gladewater and Gilmer.

District 15-3A still has some drama. If Brownsboro wins over Chapel Hill, they join Canton and Van in the playoffs. But a Brownsboro loss and Lindale win puts Lindale in. If Brownsboro and Lindale both lose, then there's a three-way tie with Chapel Hill for the final playoff spot.

Tatum can complete an undefeated regular season with a win at Carthage. If that happens and White Oak wins, Carthage, Center and White Oak will be fighting over two playoff spots.

18-2A could be interesting as well. A New Diana win puts them at number three behind Paul Pewitt and Waskom. A New Diana loss could open the door for Hughes Springs. But, if they both lose, there's a three way tie with Queen City for the final playoff spot.

19-1A could face a similar scenario. A Big Sandy win over Simms Bowie has them joining Harleton in the playoffs. But, if Big Sandy loses and Union Hill wins, there's a three way tie for that final spot.
