A hearing in the Texas capital today focuses on whether the judge presiding over former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's criminal trial should be replaced.Attorneys for DeLay, a Republican, say Judge Bob Perkins is biased, citing contributions to Democratic causes and candidates. Perkins will not recuse himself and says contributions to MoveOn-dot-org were made before the liberal group launched its campaign against DeLay. DeLay relinquished his powerful House position amid charges of criminal conspiracy and money laundering. He was allegedly involved in a campaign finance scheme to help load the Texas House and Congress with Republicans three years ago. He's expected to be in court. Copyright 2005 Associated Press.
