Man Accused Of Impersonating Deputy Constable Charged

A Van Zandt County man, charged with impersonating a deputy constable, is scheduled to appear in a Smith County court next month. Police say Cash Wiley, 34, claimed to be a deputy constable during the April search for Jeffrey Robertson, the man accused of shooting Canton football coach, Gary Kinne. Wiley helped find Robertson in a heavily wooded area next to the Garden Valley Golf Club.

Cash, whose father is a Van Zandt county constable, is accused of illegally donning a gun, badge and bulletproof vest and claiming to be a deputy constable. He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
