Gene Shull announced his run for Smith County judge today under the Republican ticket in the 2006 primary. Shull says as county judge, he will work towards having solutions.
"I think that the county can use my experience in the construction industry to be the county judge. I think I can bring a lot to the table there. Having been here 32 years I know a little bit about what's going on in the county," says Shull at Monday's press conference announcing his run for office. If elected, Shull hopes to alleviate traffic congestion, the need for a new jail and says he will serve as the taxpayers' "watchdog".
Shull's last run for office was in 1992 for the Texas State Senate.
