Deputy Sherman Dollison and Lieutenant Marlin Suell of the Smith County Sheriff's Department received the Star of Texas Award today in Austin. It recognizes those seriously hurt or killed in the line of duty. Dollison, Suell and other agencies bravely tried to stop gunman David Hernandez Arroyo, Sr. during the courthouse shooting in Tyler back in February. "They're being recognized by the governor's office and we think that's great. Good people should be recognized for their good work," says Smith County Sheriff J.B. Smith. Dollison was shot four times and is recovering from his wounds. Suell was also shot and wounded.
