X Gamers Coming To East Texas

We've seen them on TV, here's your chance to see some of the top X Gamers in person as part of the annual Texas Pro Challenge. The wildly popular event finally returns for the 14th year. It was postponed in September because of the hurricanes. The event features some of the nations most talented riders, including David Vuillemin, Mike Brown and Josh Demuth in motocross, and four top free style pros, including X Games freestyle champ Chuck Carothers. Freestyle rider Derek Cook talked about some of the tricks you'll see this weekend.

"You can see kisses of death, rock solids, cliff hangers, double grabs," said Cook.  "I mean you name it, the staple for all the tricks in freestyle is going to be thrown down Saturday night.  It's just crazy how much people enjoy watching it, seeing a bunch of crazy guys jump a ramp and then let go of a bike in mid-air like 35 feet high, so it's entertaining to watch."

The Texas Pro Challenge is Saturday at Swan Raceway Park off Highway 110 northwest of Tyler. Gates open at 2:30, the first race at 3:00. $10 for adults, $5 for kids 6-14. Children under six are free.

The John Tyler Lions always seem to look sharp in their uniforms. But thanks to East Texas lawyer Keith Miller, the Lions will look better and play safer. Helmets that advertise lowering the impact of hits, and possibly reduce the amount of concussions, come with a hefty price-tag. Miller's donation of 7,500 dollars, will go to help the lions cover that cost. "Keith Miller's been a big sponsor of John Tyler High School football program for years now.  I know it's...More >>

The last time we talked about the Kilgore Bulldogs, quarterback Buddy Jackson and wide receiver Jonathan Shepherd were apart of the 800-meter relay team that won gold at the 2017 state track meet. But today they are back in the pads, and looking to turn their speed into touchdowns.  Competing in District 9-4A, Kilgore has always had a strong run game that helped them become the 2016 District Champs. However, in order to surpass their opponents this season, including Carthag...More >>
