Assault Gets 80 Years For Longview Defendant

A Longview man who fired on police officers, and was mistakenly bonded out of jail and re-arrested, has been sentenced to 80 years in prison. 31 year old Jaun Jasso sped away from White Oak officers back on July 10th. The chase ended on George Richey road when Jasso's tires were blown out by spikes on the road.
Jasso then fired shots at the officers, then put the gun to his own head, and fled. He was later arrested at an area hotel. Jasso pleaded guilty to assaulting a public servant and evading arrest earlier this year.
