DNA Evidence Links Man To Sexual Assaults

Tyler police have DNA evidence linking a man to two sexual assault cases that happened within one month.  Tyler police are asking for your help in finding the man responsible for the crimes.

The first sexual assault happened June 17th around 10 p.m. at the Rose Rudman Park. The victim was walking in the park, while she waited for her boyfriend to finish his jog. She was attacked and sexually assaulted.

The second attack happened on July 15th around 3 a.m. This happened at the Lexington Downs Apartments on Old Bullard Road. The rapist approached the victim outside her apartment, and the two spoke.

The man depicted in this sketch, then attacked the woman in the laundry room of the apartment complex.

He's described as a black man in his early 20s. He's about 5'10" around 150 pounds. He has short hair.

He was armed during the second attack, and told the second victim, his name was Chris.

Tyler police say they are stepping up patrols this week.  If you have any information about either of these cases call Tyler Police, or Crimestoppers.
