Charges Against Three East Texas Teachers

The Henderson County Sheriff's Department has now filed charges with the District Attorney's office, regarding three Brownsboro teachers.  The D.A.'s office will soon forward those charges to a grand jury, who will decide whether or not to formally charge the men.

The former Brownsboro baseball coach, Andy Malone, faces the "least severe" charge. "Criminal solicitation of a minor" is a 3rd degree felony.

The former band director, Danny Burns, faces a second degree felony charge; "Improper Relationship With A Student."

Also more charges for the biology teacher, 42 year old Donald Dudley. The Henderson County Sheriff's Department has filed an "indecency with a child" charge against Dudley. That's a second degree felony. Dudley was arrested in Smith County on similar charges earlier this month. In that arrest affidavit he's accused of having sex with a 16 year old student at her home.

At last check Dudley was the only one of these men to still be employed by the school.

We've been told it could be several weeks before the grand jury decides whether to arrest these men.
