Hundreds Of Dolls Were On Display For Everyone To Enjoy

The Tyler Doll Club's 22nd annual show, another part of the Rose Festival, took place today. The event was held at the East Texas State Fairgrounds. Dolls from almost every era were on display, including replicas of past Rose Queens. New this year, three dolls made during the 1939 broadway production Streets of Paris. The dolls are replicas of the maid characters in the show. One of those characters now lives in Lindale.

"She donated the dolls to our club, but at the time they were donated the clothing was tattered," said Mary Bell, Tyler Doll Club. "The clothes had been dressed by the wardrobe mistress of the show and we have replicated the clothing that were the costumes." A raffle was held throughout the show. Proceeds will go to several different charities.
