Texas Rose Festival Officially Starts

The 72nd Texas Rose Festival officially began this morning with the ribbon cutting ceremony. This year's queen, Katherine Claire Noel King, cut the ribbon. The queen says she's had a great time and is looking forward to the upcoming events.

"It's probably been one of the most exciting, most memorable experience of my life so far," said Katherine Claire Noel King, Rose Queen. "It's really been awesome." This afternoon, Katherine received her crown at the Queen's Coronation. She introduced her court to the public as well.

Today was just the beginning of the festival. Tomorrow, you can meet Katherine yourself at the Queen's Tea from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Rose Garden. The parade is this Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The parade will start at Glenwood Boulevard and Front Street and end at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.
