Motivating Kids

Some third, fourth, and fifth graders at Kissam Intermediate had some high-flying fun today, and learned an important lesson along the way. They had a chance to conquer a 24-foot rock wall as part of the Character Counts program.

The school brought in the group Rock Solid Character to teach students that rock climbing is like life. In order to be successful, you have to make the right choices along the way.

Ashley bush is the program director for the group and says," We have seven character traits. We call those the Seven Hand Holds for Success. And we liken the handholds on the rock to handholds of good character. We've got to get a good grip on good character in order to be successful in this climb.
