JT Wins Second District Game

The John Tyler Lions were a team that won two games in 2004 and had not won a district game in four years.
That is all in the past now.
John Tyler is 2-and-0 in district this year. The Lions have won their first two district games. Last Friday the Lions swatted away the Mesquite Skeeters easily with a 42 to 6 win.
They looked good on offense, defense and the special teams came up with some big plays.
John Tyler is now 5-and-1 this season overall.
Head coach Thomas Brooks said for a year he planned on rebuilding, his players have gone above and beyond.
"From the beginning, these guys had set a goal to make the playoffs," Brooks said. "Right now we are 2-and-0, that's not good enough for them. We are just taking it one week at a time."
This week John Tyler will play at home, meeting up with Mesquite Horn at Trinity Mother Francis Rose stadium.
