Questions Raised About Kinsey Drive Construction

Dozens of Tyler residents and business owners showed up, Monday afternoon, to talk about proposed construction on Kinsey drive.
The meeting with their city council representative was held at the Lutheran Church on Kinsey.
The roadwork was set to begin last week on Kinsey Drive from Loop 323 to Rice Road, but it was postponed.
Those that live or work on Kinsey are asking why the city is taking another North-South street out of commission before they finish construction on Broadway and Copeland.
Their City Councilman, Steve Smith, told them, now is the time. "It needs to be done right now. We think that this plan that we've come up with is gonna' have the least amount of impact on their business and at the same time be the safest thing for people traveling the road."
The city now says they plan on beginning the construction on October 17. It will last about four months. During that time traffic will be down to one lane. It will only be allowed to go South.
