Raiders And Lobos Ready For Battle

It is an East Texas district rivalry that is receiving national attention.
Lee and Longview's matchup at Trinity Mother Frances Rose stadium will be carried live on Fox Sports Net for all the country to see.
It is a game where the stakes are as big as Texas and could be a preview of who will walk away as champions of District 12-5A.
Robert E. Lee has lost three in a row, including the district opener to Rockwall last Friday.
Head Coach Mike Owens said penalties and turnovers have been the teams downfall and they cannot afford that against Longview or any other team for that matter.
"We've made some mistakes in critical, critical situations," Owens said. "I don't care who you are playing, if it's Rockwall or the best team in America. You can't make those kinds of mistakes."
On the field the Red Raiders will be without starting quarterback Preston Hill, who suffered a sprained knee in the Rockwall game. Junior Marcus Jackson gets the call.
The Longview Lobos are undefeated coming in at 6 and 0. They have outscored their opponents this year 239 points to 58. That is due in large part to Vondrell McGee, who has seen complete fourth quarter action in only two games this season.
Despite Lee's skid, Lobo Head Coach John King said no one should ever forget REL is the defending state champs and they are never a team to be taken lightly.
"Anytime Lee and Longview get together you can throw the records out," King said. "We've been on both sides of the record thing and I know Tyler Lee's got their backs agains the wall, but they have got a lot of pride in their program and their coaches are going to have the team ready."
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. at TMF Rose Stadium.
