Breast Cancer Survivors Kick Off Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and to kick it off, the Tyler Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation held a luncheon at ETMC today. They called it "Wild in Pink." Breast cancer survivors attended the luncheon, wearing their pink, to meet other survivors. They also got a chance to learn what research is being done. Foundation members say this is just one of many events that will take place this month.

"I'm a breast cancer survivor for 5 1/2 years now and everybody in this room is inspirational to me because we have people here who are 25 year survivors, and we have some that were diagnosed two weeks ago and so we help each other," said Peggy Suggs, President of Tyler's Susan G. Komen chapter. Survivors say the best way to show support is to wear pink this month.
