A Tyler Woman Is Charged With Forgery

The Tyler Police Department charged a women today with forgery and possession of a controlled substance. Thirty-nine-year-old Kimberly Hasson of Tyler was arrested at Woody Weaver Pharmacy where police say she tried to cash a check she made on her computer. Officers say they approached Hasson inside the store and found several checkbooks that were not hers. They say she also had several company checks, labeled "cab construction", a company that does not exist. Officers then checked her car and say they found a laptop computer and printer, they believed was used to print the checks.

"We found several receipts in her possession of large purchases, so we will be getting back with those businesses to see how she actually purchased the stuff that she got and find out of she used a bad check to get that, so theres a possibility many more cases will come as a result of this," said Officer Don Martin, Tyler Police Department. Officers say they also found crystal meth on Hasson. They say many times fake checks are used to pay for drugs, which means Hasson possibly was working with other people.
