For the sixth year in a row, the ETMC Regional Healthcare System has been named to the 2005 list of the nation’s Top 100 Most Wired Hospitals and Health Systems. The survey and study by Hospitals and Health Networks, the journal of the American Hospital Association, measures the nation’s healthcare systems on their use of the Internet and other electronic technologies for safety and quality, customer service, disaster readiness, business processes and workforce management.
“This is about empowering clinicians with information, and providing tools to support the care management process,” said Paula Anthony, ETMC vice president of information technology. “The transmission and integration of voice, data and images across our regional health network supports telemedicine initiatives, communications improvements and operating efficiencies that drive seamless patient services across the care continuum.”
This year 502 surveys were submitted, representing 1,255 hospitals.
