U.S. 259, Henderson Lane open to traffic after gas leak in Longview

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - U.S. Highway 259 and Henderson Lane are both open to normal traffic again in the wake of a gas leak that occurred in the area of Henderson Lane next to Woolley G'S Be Me and Fitness in Longview Thursday.

Kevin May, Longview's city fire marshal, said that a work crew was digging in that area when they cut a gas line Thursday morning

The area was secured and blocked off by the Judson Metro Fire Department, and Henderson Lane between Tyron Road and U.S. Highway 259 was closed to traffic. All lanes on 259 are reopened after one lane was temporarily shut down to allow space for emergency crews.

The Fire Marshal's Office and Longview fire were also on the scene.

While there were no mandatory evacuations, the fire marshal did ask some neighboring businesses to leave as a precaution.
