Power outage affecting over 1,100 customers in Tyler, squirrel may be to blame

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - A power outage has occurred in South Tyler Wednesday afternoon.

The outage is affecting the area FM 2493 near W. Cumberland. According to Charles Hill, spokesperson for Oncor, a serviceperson is at the scene.

According to the outage map, restoration time could be around 5:30 p.m. However, according to the latest update, at 4:15 p.m., Hill says that the serviceman found a squirrel in the Blue Mountain Road area had been electrocuted. That is the suspected problem, and restoration could be as soon as 10 minutes.
