Tyler Planning and Zoning Commission approves zone changes

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Plans for the expansion of Tyler businesses are moving forward. On Sept. 4, the City of Tyler's Planning and Zoning Commission approved zone changes to allow for expansion of businesses.

The commission approved a zone change at the southeast intersection of Old Jacksonville Highway and Woodlands Hills Drive to allow for the expansion of the Classic Mercedes. The zone will change from a single-family residential district and a general commercial district to a planned commercial development district.

The commission also approved a zone change from a single-family residential district to a light commercial district for 0.40 acres of land at the northeast intersection of Gardener Avenue and Frankston Highway. The zone change will allow for a new restaurant to be built there.

A request for a zone change for a lot totaling approximately 2.69 acres of land east of the northeast intersection of Benner Avenue and Earl Campbell Parkway was tabled for 60 days. The zone change would allow for the development of a mix of residential, commercial and retail uses.
