Lee Back in State's Top 10

The Gilmer high school football team just doesn't get any respect. The Buckeyes are riding the states longest winning streak at 21 games, yet they haven't cracked the top ten all season in the Associated Press high school poll. On the other hand, Robert E. Lee now gets so much respect, they move into the top ten without even playing!  Iin 5A, Longview and Lufkin stay three and four in the state, but Smithson Valley's loss last week opened the door for the Red Raiders to sneak back into the rankings without playing. In 4A, Kilgore extended their winning streak to 20 games as they remain fifth in the state. Marshall stays number seven. No Gilmer in the 3A poll.  Tatum is the lone East Texas representative at number six. Paul Pewitt stays at number three in the 2A poll, garning one first place vote, while Alto remains at number five. Big Sandy also received a first place vote. They are ranked second in 1A.
