Boy Scouts Help Hurricane Victims

A team building project by Tyler Cub Scouts is helping victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The 7 and 8-year-olds of the den 13 filled five-gallon buckets with all kinds of cleaning supplies, so the evacuees will have what they need to get started.

The buckets were packed full with disinfectants, Clorox, gloves, 409 and detergent and will be given to evacuees on their way home.

Billy Hibbs, Jr., the den 13 leader said, "I wanted to teach the boys a little something about helping others and they're too young to write checks and giving donations, so we thought we'd put them to work another way."

The supplies were donated by the downtown Tyler Rotary Club.
