Thousands In East Texas Without Power

The storm has passed, but frustrations continue over electricity. More than 100,000 electricity customers are without power in East Texas.

The electric company, Swep-Co reported that 26,350 customers throughout East Texas still do not have power. But they are working around the clock to help those in several counties.

Tonight, less than 70,000  TXU customers are without power. The company hopes to have 100 percent of power restored in Jacksonville, Palestine and Tyler by Tuesday.

Several energy crews working in Lufkin and Nacogdoches areas were hit harder by the storm, TXU says they cannot say when they will get power.

And, still 1,000  Cherokee County Co-Op customers are in the dark.

Centerpoint Entergy did not have any update information at this time.
