MARSHALL, TX (KLTV) - Police say a Marshall woman who allegedly attempted to hire an undercover officer to murder her husband has now been arrested.
Trisha Groot George, 33, of Marshall, has been arrested and charged with capital murder by remuneration.
The Marshall Police Department released a statement on the case Friday morning, saying George allegedly paid an undercover officer to commit the crime.
"On July 27, the Marshall Police Department Criminal Investigations Division received a tip that 33-year-old Trisha George was attempting to hire someone to murder her husband," the release states.
Detectives reached out to the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division for assistance with the case. During the joint investigation, George allegedly tried to pay the officer to murder her husband.
George was taken into custody Aug. 2 and booked into the Harrison County Jail. Her bond is set at $1 million.
