When Tavon Austin, one of the many talented receivers on the Cowboys roster, comes to work, he brightens the day of his position coach Sonjay Lal.
In his first season with the Cowboys, the receiving corp are learning new drills and stronger attitudes. Walking with a 25 lb brick in each hand after practice for up to 50 yards is one of those new drills.
Says Lal, who played in the Pac 10, "It strengthens hands and wards off those trying to strip the ball away. "
Lal praises Austin, acquired from the Rams during the off-season, saying he's a true veteran and can be counted on help bring youngster Michael Gallup along. The receivers love his style and believe his approach will build stronger confidence among one another.
