SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Smith County Sheriff's Office deputies seized three gambling machines from a gas station during the execution of a search warrant.
Thursday morning detectives received information that the Oasis gas station in the 14700 block of Highway 110 North in Lindale was allegedly operating multiple gambling machines inside the store.
According to a news release from the sheriff's office, detectives went inside the store multiple times while undercover to investigate if the machines were being operated in an illegal manner.
"Through the investigation, detectives were able to determine that the machines were in fact being used in an illegal capacity and not in accordance with Chapter 47 of the Texas Penal Code," the release stated.
Wednesday, detectives obtained a search and seizure warrant from a Smith County judge and Thursday detectives, patrol deputies and officers with the Pct. 5 Smith County Constable's office executed the search warrant.
Officials seized three gambling machines, $13,027 in cash and paperwork.
No arrests have been made at this time.
