LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

Longview firefighters are responding to reports of a fire at a mobile home park Tuesday afternoon.

Fire crews were called around 2 p.m. to the 2900 block of Estes Parkway in Longview.

According to a reporter on the scene, the homeowner was asleep when she awoke to smoke inside of the residence. She was able to make her way out of the home safely. However, a family pet was still inside of the home at the time of the fire. The status of the animal is unknown.

Longview Fire Marshal Kevin May said the main source of the fire seemed to be out, and there was little danger of it spreading. Firefighters are checking beneath the home to be sure the flames are extinguished, and checking for hot spots and smoldering areas of the home.

The homeowner told firefighters she was not sure how or where the fire started.
