LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Fire crews made quick work of putting out a house fire Tuesday morning in Longview.

According to officials at the scene, they received a call at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday reporting a house fire on the 100 block of Joan Lane in North Longview off of Highway 259. The call reported fire and smoke were coming out of an electrical outlet in the residence.

Longview Fire Department, Judson Metro Volunteer Fire Department, and West Harrison Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.

Firefighters had to use a sledgehammer to break the brick in the front of the house in order to reach the fire.

According to a reporter on the scene, a resident told a neighbor that they had seen fire coming from the electrical outlet and going up the wall. Residents were home at the time of the fire. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.

Officials on the scene said they were able to contain the fire and put it out before it could spread.
