Longview Quintuplets Have First Birthday

Their birth is still regarded as an astounding miracle. On September 17th of last year Hallsville couple Craig and Darcy Bryant became the proud parents of quintuplets! The chances of having quintuplets, one in 57-million! Today was the quints birthday.

"It's so special to see them come from so small and so weak to so strong and they're walking and talking. We're just so happy," said Darcy.

"You become a little more relaxed about things but when the kids come along you are a little more stressed about every little thing they do," said Craig.

Today was the first birthday for Austin , Mackenzie, Kaitlyn, Payton and Caleb, and the event was even marked by a proclamation of recognition from the state legislature, delivered by representative Bryan Hughes.

"That was just a wonderful surprise. We didn't know they did that last year so we're just honored," said Darcy.

"The birth of a Texan is a big deal we're excited about that but getting five of them at one time. It's a really big deal," said Hughes.

Like the first time that we met them, with so many blessings, everything is multiplied by five!

"I would say the toughest part is not managing time between each kid because we want to spend time with each child equally," says Craig.

One thing the Bryants won't have to worry about. College! the Bryants attended East Texas Baptist University in Marshall. And that school has awarded the Bryant quintuplets full tuition scholarships to attend the four-year university.
