Lufkin's Jerrin "Bugg" Thompson is one of the hottest recruits this summer in the junior class in East Texas.
Since Sunday, Thompson has picked up two offers. His first offer of the week came Sunday from the Oklahoma Sooners, the 2017 national Semi-finalist. Just a few days later and Thompson already had the attention of another Big 12 school. This time it was the Baylor Bears giving Thompson an offer.
Last year, Thompson was a leader on the field as he brought in 95 tackles, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries in a season that saw Lufkin go the furthest in the playoffs in the past 5 seasons.
Thompson had previous offers from SMU, Arkansas, South Florida and Vanderbilt.
Thompson is also one of six Lufkin panthers with Division I offers.
