HENDERSON, TX (KLTV) - The Henderson Police Department has joined in a social media lip sync battle among law enforcement officers with their own performance.

The department shared a video to their Facebook page of one of their officers singing along to the "Cupcake Song." The video is their addition to the lip sync battle trend. In the post, they also challenged the Rusk County Sheriff's Office to perform.

The video was posted Monday morning and features Officer Randolph singing to a her "power ring," otherwise known as a doughnut. Since then, it has received more than 2,000 views and 75 reactions.

Officer Randolph said that she made the video because she wanted to create unity between law enforcement and their community. She said that she wanted to show that police officers are not always serious.

"We are fun-loving and we do joke around a lot," said Officer Randolph.

Known as the department's "jokester," when Office Randolph saw other law agencies participating in the trend she knew that Henderson police had to join in. She said she chose the song since it's "wholesome" and the performance plays along with the joke of doughnut-loving police officers.

There's still no word on whether the sheriff's office will retaliate. If the office does, HPD is fully prepared to top their performance.
