It has been eight months since Breylon Garcia lay on the turf field at Corsicana High School, wondering if he would play football again.
Garcia broke his leg in a playoff game against Richardson Pierce. Garcia was taken to the hospital and had surgery.
Garcia had a fast recovery time and then went back to work on healing his leg, During the offseason, Garcia stood on the sideline and watched as his teammates started to prepare for the upcoming season.
The lack of physical contact did not seem to hurt Garcia's stock with college recruiting.
Garcia took to Twitter on Tuesday and announced he was committing to the University of Nevada as a defensive lineman. He is joining a Wolfpack squad that finished 3-9 on the year.
Garcia had been looking at other schools that included the Air Force Academy, Arkansas State, Louisiana Monroe, Rice, Southern Miss and Texas State, McNeese State, Northwestern State, and Stephen F. Austin.
