CHEROKEE COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Two people were killed in a one-vehicle rollover in Cherokee County Sunday morning.
According to officials with the Texas Highway Patrol, around 6 a.m. Sunday troopers responded to a one-vehicle crash on Farm-to-Market Road 235 east of New Summerfield.
Preliminary reports show the driver of a Yukon was traveling west on FM 235 at an unsafe speed into a curve in the road when the vehicle left the road slightly to the north. The vehicle then overcorrected back across the roadway and rolled several times, according to officials.
Both the driver and passenger were ejected. They were not wearing seatbelts, according to Highway Patrol officials.
The driver, identified as Uriel Torres, 20 of Cedar Creek and the passenger, Jose Arrendondo, 22, of Jacksonville were pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
